Ferrules effectively prevent multi-core stranded wires from splaying when clamped to terminals. For this purpose, the tubular sleeves are pushed onto the stripped ends of the conductors and crimped with special pliers. The result is a durable, secure connection that can withstand multiple rewiring. Compared to non-insulated ferrules, our products with an insulating collar provide additional bend protection and insulation for the cable.
Double ferrules – specially designed to allow simultaneous connection of two conductors – are also available from ETTINGER with insulating collars. This makes installation in control cabinets with limited space considerably easier. Twin ferrules are also ideal for daisy-chaining signals across multiple devices and connections. ETTINGER supplies twin ferrules for all common conductor cross sections with the required pin length – in large quantities and at low prices.
Secure connection of two conductors
Depending on the conductor cross section, we stock double ferrules with an insulating collar in the appropriate color. The color coding lets you quickly identify the suitability of each ferrule for the respective terminal connections. A red collar, for example, indicates that the two conductors can have a nominal cross section of 2x 1.5 mm², while blue collars are designed for 2x 0.75 mm². ETTINGER twin ferrules have the following features which are not offered by every manufacturer:
- Sleeve made of electrolytic copper (E-Cu), tin-plated
- High-quality polypropylene insulation
- Temperature resistance: -55°C to +105°C
- Oval-shaped collar for space-saving installation
The highly conductive copper material with corrosion protection minimizes the contact resistance, while the plastic insulation offers effective bend protection and insulation.
