Collection of general information
When you access our website, information of a general nature is collected automatically. This information (stored in server log files) includes the type of web browser, the operating system being used, the domain name of your Internet service provider, and similar items. None of the information collected in this case can be traced back to you personally. For technical reasons, this information is required so that the content you are looking for on the websites you visit can be provided to you correctly. It is a necessary part of using the Internet. We perform statistical analyses of anonymous information of this kind so that we can optimize our Internet presence and the technology that it uses.
Like many other websites, our website uses what are known as cookies. These are small text files that a website server stores on your hard drive. They automatically provide us with certain data, such as your IP address, the browser you used to access our website, the operating system on your computer, and your connection to the Internet.
Cookies cannot be used to launch programs or transfer viruses to a computer. We use the information provided in cookies to make our website easier for you to navigate, and to ensure that the content of our website is displayed correctly for you.
We will never pass on the data that we collect in this way to third parties or link it to your personal data without your consent.
Registering on our website
If you register to use our personalized services, we will collect some personal data such as your name and address, plus information on how we can contact you: your phone number and e-mail address, for example. Once you have registered with us, you will be given access to content and services that we only offer to registered users. Additionally, users have the option to request a change to or erasure of the data that they entered during registration. They may do this at any time. We will of course be happy to provide you with access to the personal data we have stored for you at any time. We will also be happy to rectify or erase your data at your request, provided that there are no legal retention obligations preventing this. If you wish to contact us in relation to this, please use the contact details provided at the end of this data privacy statement.
To provide security for your data while it is being transmitted, we use state-of-the-art encryption methods (such as SSL) and transmission via HTTPS.
If you subscribe to our newsletter, the data that you provide in the process of doing so will only be used for the purpose of sending you the newsletter. Subscribers may also receive e-mails containing information that is important for service or registration reasons (such as changes to the newsletter or technical circumstances).
In order for your subscription to work, you must provide us with a valid e-mail address. We use the double opt-in method to verify that a subscription is actually being requested by the owner of the e-mail address. For this purpose, we keep a record of the subscription to the newsletter, the sending of a confirmation e-mail, and the receipt of the response requested in the e-mail. We do not collect any other data in this process. The data is used exclusively for sending the newsletter and is never passed on to third parties.
You can revoke your consent to your personal data being stored and used for sending the newsletter at any time. Each newsletter contains a link that enables you to do so. As well as this, you can unsubscribe directly on this website or send us your request to do so using the contact details provided at the end of this data privacy statement. You may do this at any time.
If you contact us via e-mail or using our contact form, the details that you provide will be stored for the purposes of processing your inquiry and to send you any follow-up questions that we may have.
Erasing data and making data unavailable
We abide by the principles of data avoidance and data minimization. This means that we will only store your personal data for as long as is necessary to fulfill the purposes that we have outlined here, or to comply with the various storage periods specified by legislation. Once the purposes no longer apply or the storage periods elapse, the data in question will be made unavailable or erased routinely and in line with legal requirements.
Use of Google Analytics
You can prevent cookies from being stored by making the appropriate setting in your browser software. If you do this, however, please be aware that you may not be able to use the full range of functions provided by this website. Additionally, you can prevent Google from collecting and processing the data generated by cookies on your use of the website (including your IP address) by downloading and installing the browser add-on available from this link: Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
In addition to or as an alternative to the browser add-on, you can also suppress Google Analytics tracking on other websites by clicking on this link. This will install an opt-out cookie on your device, preventing Google Analytics from collecting any future data for this website and for this browser. This will remain the case for as long as the cookie is installed on your browser.
Use of Google Maps
You can find an extensive guide to managing your own data in Google products here.
Our website uses Google AdWords, which is Google's conversion tracking tool. If you click on an advertisement delivered by Google on our website, Google AdWords will set a cookie on your computer. The conversion-tracking cookie is set whenever a user clicks on an advertisement delivered by Google. These cookies become invalid after 30 days and cannot be used to identify you personally. If a user visits certain pages on our website while the cookie is still valid, both we and Google will be able to detect that the user has clicked on an advertisement that has taken them to the page in question. Each Google AdWords customer receives a separate cookie. This means that cookies cannot be tracked across the websites of AdWords customers. The information obtained from conversion cookies is used to generate conversion statistics for AdWords customers who have opted into conversion tracking. Customers find out the total number of users who have clicked on their advertisement and have been forwarded to a page with a conversion-tracking tag. However, they do not receive information that enables users to be identified personally.
If you do not wish to participate in tracking, you can refuse to have the cookies set as required for the service. You can do this by making a browser setting that automatically disables cookies in general, or set your browser to block cookies from the googleleadservices.com domain.
Please note that you should refrain from clearing opt-out cookies for as long as you wish to prevent measured data from being recorded. If you have cleared all the cookies in your browser, you will need to set the opt-out cookie again.
Your rights to access, rectification, making unavailable, erasure, and objection
You have the right to be granted access to the personal information that we have stored about you at any time. You also have the right to have your personal data rectified, made unavailable, or – except in cases where data is required to be stored for business transactions – erased. For more information on this, please contact our data privacy officer, whose contact details can be found below.
If you wish your data to be made unavailable, we need to remain aware of this at all times. In order for us to do this, we must retain your data in an appropriate file so that we can maintain control of it. You can also request the erasure of your data provided that there is no legal archiving obligation preventing this. If an obligation of this nature exists, we will make your data unavailable if you request us to do so.
You can make changes or withdraw your consent by communicating this to us with future effect.
Changes to our data privacy statement
We reserve the right to amend this data privacy statement from time to time in order to ensure that it is consistently in line with current legal requirements or in order to implement changes to our services in the data privacy statement (if we introduce new services, for example). The next time you visit our website after this, the new data privacy statement will then apply.
